Baton Rouge Religious Events to Celebrate Black History Month and Spiritual Growth
Louisiana Supreme Court Justice John Michael Guidry will serve as the guest speaker at Philadelphia Christian Ministries’ Black History Month program on February 9, 2025, sharing insights on the legacy and impact of African Americans in the legal field and beyond.
Baton Rouge will see two exciting opportunities for community engagement this February and January, blending the celebration of history with spiritual development.
On Sunday, February 9, Philadelphia Christian Ministries at 7317 Hanks Drive will host its annual Black History Month program at 11 a.m. The event will feature a powerful address by Louisiana Supreme Court Justice John Michael Guidry. This program promises to highlight the rich history and contributions of African Americans, inviting the community to reflect on their shared heritage.
Meanwhile, just a few weeks earlier, The Chapel Baton Rouge will kick off an inspiring nine-week course titled "Heart of God: My Life. His Purpose." The transformative program begins Sunday, January 26, at 2 p.m. on the LSU campus at 3355 Dalrymple Drive. This immersive course offers attendees a deep dive into the spiritual significance of God’s ultimate plan for the world, guiding participants through readings, dynamic speakers, and interactive activities designed to deepen their faith.
The course, running each Sunday until April 13, is an open invitation for anyone seeking to explore their spiritual journey and gain life-changing insights. Whether you are a lifelong member of the faith or someone just beginning to ask big questions, this program is designed to resonate with all.
Both events present unique opportunities for the Baton Rouge community to gather, reflect, and grow in new and meaningful ways.
