Baton Rouge to Honor Veterans with “Hearts for Heroes” Tribute
This Valentine’s season, Baton Rouge is honoring its veterans with “Hearts for Heroes,” a tribute led by Mayor-President Sid Edwards. On Feb. 12, 2025, at 9 a.m., Davis Rhorer Plaza will be transformed into a display of gratitude, with red hearts bearing the names of local veterans.
BATON ROUGE, La. — Mayor-President Sid Edwards, in partnership with the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs and Baton Rouge City Constable Terrica Williams, is set to host the annual “Hearts for Heroes” tribute, a powerful display of gratitude for the veterans of East Baton Rouge Parish.
On Feb. 12, 2025, at 9 a.m., Davis Rhorer Plaza, located outside City Hall, will be transformed into a sea of red hearts, each bearing the name and branch of a local veteran. The visual tribute serves as a symbol of the community’s deep respect and appreciation for those who have served the nation.
“It is our honor and privilege to recognize these brave men and women for their years of dedication and sacrifice,” Edwards said.
Residents are encouraged to participate by submitting the names and service branches of their veteran loved ones. To be included, email mayorsveteranaffairs@brla.gov as soon as possible, as the number of hearts is limited.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony at Rhorer Plaza and join city leaders in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Baton Rouge’s veterans.
