Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Community Program
This year’s program will feature Dr. Willie E. Smith, Chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College, as the guest speaker. Dr. Smith will deliver a keynote address reflecting on Dr. King’s vision of justice, equality, and service to others.
Baker, La. — The community is invited to join in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a special program on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Baker Municipal Center, located at 3325 Groom Road in Baker, Louisiana.
This year’s program will feature Dr. Willie E. Smith, Chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College, as the guest speaker. Dr. Smith will deliver a keynote address reflecting on Dr. King’s vision of justice, equality, and service to others.
“As we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are reminded of his unwavering dedication to justice, equality, and unity,” said Mayor Darnell Waites of Baker, Louisiana. “This program is an opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on his vision, and recommit ourselves to building a better future for all. I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this important day.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with neighbors and leaders in the community as we come together to celebrate Dr. King’s enduring impact. Complimentary refreshments will be served following the program.
