City of Baker launches Phase 2 of Home Rehabilitation Program
Applicants must live within Baker’s city limits and meet specific criteria, including being a single-parent household with children under 18, an elderly individual aged 62 or older, or a person with a physical or mental disability.
BAKER, La. — In partnership with the Louisiana Housing Corporation and UREC, the City of Baker has opened Phase 2 of its Home Rehabilitation Program to assist qualified residents within the city limits. The program offers up to $45,000 in repairs for eligible owner-occupied properties.
To qualify, applicants must live within Baker’s city limits and meet specific criteria, including being a single-parent household with children under 18, an elderly individual aged 62 or older, or a person with a physical or mental disability. Applicants must also hold clear title to their property, provide proof of hazard insurance, and have an annual household income classified as “very low income,” defined as not exceeding 50% of the area median income for the Baton Rouge metro area.
Required documentation includes proof of income, such as check stubs or Social Security award letters; proof of ownership, such as a deed or property tax receipt; and proof of insurance, including a policy declarations page or payment receipt. A valid photo ID is also required.
Applications will be accepted at Baker City Hall, 3325 Groom Road, on Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
