The new hub, housed within the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, will provide many of the same services available at the downtown location
BATON ROUGE, La. – In a historic move to improve government accessibility, East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards has opened the city’s first satellite office in North Baton Rouge. Located at 3773 Harding Boulevard, the new office aims to bring key city services closer to residents, addressing long-standing transportation barriers.
“We’re open for business, folks,” Edwards announced. “This means a lot for North Baton Rouge to have direct access to the mayor’s office.”
What Services Will the New Satellite Office Offer?
The new hub, housed within the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, will provide many of the same services available at the downtown location, including:
- Permit requests
- Community concerns and feedback
- City resource assistance
Bringing City Hall Closer to North Baton Rouge
Edwards emphasized that the office was created to bridge the gap between residents and city leadership, making it easier for locals to access essential services.
“With this facility in this beautiful building, residents will have a place that is easy to access and open to them,” Edwards said.
The project was collaborative with District 2 Councilman Anthony Kenney and Chief Service Officer Dr. Yolanda Burnette-Lankford. Burnette-Lankford underscored the importance of meeting community members where they are.
“This is a beautiful collaboration,” she said.
Leadership & Vision for the New Office
Operations Director Cydni Rabi will oversee the satellite office, a role she considers a major administrative step.
“This is a very important initiative,” Rabi said. “I’m truly grateful for the trust placed in me to lead this because it’s a first for this administration.”
The mayor’s office anticipates that this North Baton Rouge satellite office will strengthen community engagement and ensure that residents receive the services they need without the hassle of traveling downtown.
