NEW ORLEANS — A 15-year-old boy, Jacoby Payne, was shot and left paralyzed during the Bayou Classic weekend in New Orleans.

The shooting caused broken ribs and a punctured spine, leaving Payne unable to walk. His family is now raising funds to cover the high medical costs through a GoFundMe campaign.

The shooting is part of a string of violent incidents in the city during the Bayou Classic weekend. Authorities are still investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.

Payne’s family is asking for support as they face the financial burden of his recovery.
