To help you have a safe and fun Halloween season, here are some top tips to help prevent nightmares:

Light up the night! Decorate costumes and bags with reflective material and use glow sticks or flashlights to increase visibility.

  • Young children should not trick-or-treat without adult supervision. And remember to use sidewalks, stick to familiar areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups.

  • Are you looking to trip…or treat? When selecting a costume make sure it’s the right size to help prevent trips and falls.

  • Look both ways before crossing the street, and make sure eyeholes in costume masks are wide enough to see and are well ventilated.

  • Drivers, slow down and be on the lookout for ghouls, goblins and zombies crawling the streets in search of sweets.

  • Don’t forget to check your kid’s sweets to make sure they are safe to eat.
