Postal Service Resumes Operations in Baton Rouge After Winter Storm
The USPS urged customers to assist mail carriers by ensuring safe and clear access to mailboxes.
BATON ROUGE, La. – Mail delivery in metro Baton Rouge has resumed following a two-day disruption caused by a winter storm, the United States Postal Service (USPS) announced Thursday.
The USPS urged customers to assist mail carriers by ensuring safe and clear access to mailboxes. Residents receiving door delivery should clear snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, and porches. For curbside delivery, customers are asked to remove snow piles left by plows to ensure accessible mailboxes.
“Mail carriers will continue to make every attempt to deliver to all addresses, as long as it is safe to do so,” said Evelina Ramirez, a USPS spokesperson. “We ask for patience from our customers who may be awaiting packages or specific mail, as some residual delays may still occur.”
Despite the challenges, Ramirez praised USPS employees for their efforts to restore service quickly. “We are proud of the dedication shown by our employees and will continue to work tirelessly to deliver all mail and packages,” she said.
The USPS thanked customers for their cooperation and continued support during the weather-related disruptions.
