Baton Rouge's incoming mayor-president, Sid Edwards, has announced Charlie Davis as his choice for interim chief administrative officer (CAO). Davis, a prominent Baton Rouge businessman, will take on the role starting next month, overseeing the city-parish’s administrative functions and fostering relationships with the metro council.

The CAO position is vital in managing the city's various departments and ensuring efficient operations across East Baton Rouge Parish. Davis, the founder and CEO of Moxey, a Louisiana-based small business network, brings extensive experience to the role. He is also a co-founder of MasteryPrep, an organization dedicated to helping underprivileged students raise their ACT scores. In addition to his entrepreneurial background, Davis serves as the secretary of the Republican Party of Louisiana and as vice president of New Schools for Baton Rouge.

"Charlie shares my vision for a unified Baton Rouge and improving the quality of life for all of our residents," said Edwards. "His leadership will help us hit the ground running and deliver tangible results for our community."

Davis’s role will include setting goals for city-parish departments, evaluating policies, and staffing needs, and collaborating on financial strategies. He will also play a key role in analyzing and guiding the city's budget.

Sid Edwards is set to be inaugurated on January 2, 2025, at the River Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremony will be open to the public, with an RSVP requested via info@winEBR.la.

The selection of Davis signals Edwards’s commitment to bringing experienced leadership to Baton Rouge, aiming for rapid progress and a fresh approach to managing the city’s growth and development.
